Do all yards need to BHS approved yards?

Back

Livery yards are not legally required to have a licence, although this is currently being considered as part of a new Animal Welfare Bill.

A yard that is British Horse Society (BHS) approved must comply with health and safety guidelines, be insured against public liability, and take good care of the horses and ponies.

They initially require references, including one from a vet, and are subjected to an annual spot check once approval has been gained.

Use Livery Finder to filter search results for BHS Approved yards in your area.
